Description: 

12055 is a porphyritic basalt with a medium-grained, variolitic to subophitic groundmass. It is very similar to 12052 and 12053. The large pyroxene phenocrysts are both twinned and compositionally zoned.

12055 is on public display at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Pieces are also on public display in the Philippines and in Bonn, Germany.

The sample weighed 912 grams before analysis and is 3.19±0.06 billion years old (Rb-Sr).
