This olivine andesite comes from Taupo Volcanic Zone, New Zealand. The rock was erupted around 23 thousand years ago.

In thin section the rock exhibits phenocrysts of olivine, clinopyroxene, orthopyroxene and plagioclase with strong disequilibrium textures in a groundmass consisting of plagioclase, orthopyroxene and glass.
