This sample is a hornblende rich dacitic tuff from the Miocence age Cabo de Gata volcanic terrane in southern Spain.

In thin section, the rock exhibits phenocrystic hornblende and plagioclase with minor quartz and brown pseudomorphs after euhedral pyroxene. The groundmass contains plagioclase and opaques.
