Fact sheet
Description:

15118 is a coarse-grained basalt which was collected as a fragment in a rake sample. It is a pyroxene-phyric mare basalt with large chemically-zoned, skeletal pyroxene phenocrysts (rotation 1) set in a finer-grained pyroxene-plagioclase crystalline groundmass. Many plagioclase crystals have hollow cores (rotation 2). Pyroxene and plagioclase compose nearly 90% of the rock. Accessories include ilmenite, metallic iron and troilite.

The sample weighed 27.6 grams before analysis. It has not been dated.
