Fact sheet
Description:

60535 is a rake sample from the area near the Lunar Module. It is a typical glass matrix regolith breccia and has been described as a fragmental breccia, although it has all the attributes of compacted lunar soil. Glass shards, lithic fragments and mineral fragments in a seriate grain size distribution are present. Rotation 2 shows a “breccia in breccia” fragment, a small yellow-brown glass fragment and many plagioclase feldspar clasts. Metallic iron is visible in reflected light.

The sample weighed 7.23 grams before analysis and has not been dated.
