Fact sheet
Description:

60629 is an anorthosite with a cataclastic texture. Attached to it is a patch of black glass. The pyroxenes in 60629 indicate that this sample is ferroan anorthosite.

Our thin section shows both anorthosite and the glass. The glass contains skeletal and dendritic olivine and pyroxene phenocrysts. There is a contact zone enriched in troilite and metallic iron.

The sample weighed 4.9 grams before analysis and has not been dated.
